Catherine Ogilvy is the Director of The Meditation Practice and an experienced Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher and Counsellor working with individuals and groups.
She trained with Openground completing the MBSR program as a participant and undertook the Teacher Development Intensive with Mindfulness Training Institute of Australia (MTIA). She practices mindfulness meditation daily and continues to maintain her enthusiasm for learning, practicing and teaching; regularly undertaking long meditation retreats and further training.
Catherine is a dedicated practitioner of mindfulness and meditation and has experienced deep personal transformation through her practice. She studied Bachelor of Commerce and after working as a project manager in the corporate world for many years and experiencing much stress this lead her to investigate meditation for stress relief. She has also completed a Graduate Diploma of Counselling and volunteers in this capacity with people experiencing crisis in their lives. This experience confirmed to her the benefit of mindfulness in the lives of everyone and as such she has been developing her own practice and her skill of leading the MBSR program.
Catherine is passionate about sharing the practice of mindfulness and making it accessible to all.
Catherine has worked in leadership and management roles in many different industries. She is a warm, skilled and insightful facilitator, passionate about the potential mindfulness has to help people and organisations make positive changes. She is a parent, enjoys keeping fit and strong and is a yoga and Pilates enthusiast, lover of singing, playing musical instruments and loving music in general.
